What we do
Empowability provides disability service providers and independent individuals with best practice, mobile-ready disability eLearning that empowers people with the flexibility to learn on-the-go.
We understand that traditional face-to-face training is not only costly and resource heavy, but impacts on time available for service delivery and is inconsistent throughout the industry.
Our team have over 39 years of combined experience in disability support, education, and elearning design and development. We want to change the way support worker training is provided in the disability sector.
We are offering a flexible solution which has never been seen in the sector before. Everyone is time poor, so our disability eLearning courses are short, responsive and trackable, so organisations can easily show compliance.
Our Course Categories

Foundations of Support
These courses provide a firm foundation in quality disability support. They complement traditional Cert III and Cert IV training to ensure new staff are work-ready. They can also be used as a refresher or just-in-time training for existing staff or used in conjunction with induction for new staff.
These courses cover more complex aspects of personal support and allow for on-the-job refresher and deeper understanding of these more complex tasks.
These courses give an overview of the topics that keep your business compliant and help Support Workers understand the importance of reporting and feeding back 'to the office'.
In these courses, we cover the important information that will give Support Workers some insight to understand common disabilities and be able to provide insightful, responsive support.
This is where we offer our fully customisable Support Worker Induction, written specifically for the Disability Sector. We have done all of the hard work…you just need to add your organisational flavour, then we do the branding, and you have yourself an online induction, at a very reasonable price!
We can also develop custom courses specifically your organisation. Though we will be asking the industry what they want in our Library, there may be a topic you want to have built to fill a gap. Custom development is a little bit more expensive than our Library courses, but still great value for money.
I live over an hour away from the company office. I don't get paid travel time to go into training sessions. I know that I need refresher training for medication administration and manual handling but I'll lose four hours of paid time doing it, so I put it off. I would love to do professional development online, especially on my mobile phone, as I always have it with me.SallySupport Worker
I’m a casual with a couple of agencies and have to do the same training with both. Agencies don’t recognise training from other agencies. I wouldn’t mind but often the training is unpaid. I wish it could be done online.RajSupport Worker
Rostering is a difficult job. All of our staff are well trained but they may not have done Manual Handling for a number of months. Being able to direct them to a 'just-in-time' eLearning Manual Handling Course as a refresher, would be very reassuring for the staff member as well as the client.LillyRoster
When I bring on new clients, I am simultaneously thinking about what their support requirements are and whether we have the appropriately trained staff available to go on their program. Knowing that we have a suite of Disability eLearning Courses available would mean that I could confidently tell a client that a support worker is trained in all aspects of their support needs.JaysonIntake and Assessment Coordinator
I’m a Training Coordinator with a disability provider. It is expensive to pull staff off shifts for face-to-face training. I have tried to find an online option that would allow staff to do training on their own time, but there just isn’t anything relevant out there.BridgetTrainer
The NDIS hasn't completed rolling out in Victoria yet, and already we are noticing an increase in the number of staff we are hiring. I would love to be able to offer a pre-boarding selection of courses that could be completed prior to undertaking the organisations' induction.EmmaHR Manager
As a manager for a not-for-profit service provider, my training budget is very tight. We can’t afford custom eLearning development, especially when most companies charge a fortune for desktop modules. My workforce isn’t office based, so this doesn’t work for us!RosemaryService Manager
